If you follow VINTAGE BEEF or MAN KNOBS, you'll recognize this cover photo and photo.  I've been trying to figure out who he is, he's so familiar.  Finally I have been able to do a photo search with results.  He is actor TOM TRYON who died in 1991.  For more, see Wikipedia's links below:

After learning more about Tom Tryon, I see he's linked to CASEY DONOVAN; another name that's so familiar, but I just couldn't remember who he was.  After seeing his photo, I remembered immediately; how could I forget CASEY DONOVAN?  He was huge at his peak.

An all too familiar sad story from the 1990s, it was before the internet and the middle of the AIDS epidemic.  And it was during that time, PHIL DONOHUE introduced a number of mystery men on his talk show.  All of them were so hot and handsome, yet they were mostly unknown.  They were then revealed as gay porn stars which drew shock and surprise from the live audience; they were all names and faces that might only be known to the gay community.  The discussion then went on to HIV/AIDS, it's impact on their lives, along with many other facets.  I've been trying to find a copy of that show, but so far I come up with nothing.  I'd love to see it again, and if I find it I'll certainly post it.  I remember it being quite emotional, and I'm sure it would be of interest for all of us.

Familiar, I had to do a photo search to find his name.  I remember his face, and like so many others, he quietly disappeared.  Sadly, his obit came up, he died in 2007.  RIP

RIP Rowdy Nash

 

        You just can't find anyone more real than this.  The first time I saw him, it sent me swooning.  He wasn't pretty, but he was ruggedly handsome.  He died 13 years ago, and sadly because of that, we don't see his photos posted all that frequently anymore.  He was only 35 when he died, leaving behind a wife and two kids; a total surprise to me. It just proves, you can't jump to conclusions.  His obit doesn't elaborate on the cause of death and I'm sure that led to rumor and gossip.  I suppose we'll never know what happened, I'm just so sorry he left so soon.
